Committees

The members of the committees are volunteers from the general membership. To help a committee, a board member (or become one), please contact us! Read about AAMHA’s Committees and Board Members. Take a moment to review our Bylaws as well for details on objectives and membership.
The Association has five standing committees. Each of the committees, with the exception of the Ethics committee, is chaired and organized by a Board Member. The members of the committees are volunteers from the general membership.

ALL COMMITTEES

Education & Programming Committee

Organize, train, and maintain educational activities for the members and the Armenian American community at large. Focus its efforts primarily on issues that have an effect on the Armenian American community’s culture and the process of adaptation. Oversee the delivery of CEUs, and facilitate the organization of conferences.

Social Committee

Plan, organize, and implement social events for the members to network and get to know each other. Create opportunities for the members to be informed about the goals and objectives of the organization. Coordinate sponsors for the events and seek donations for the continuation of the Association’s educational mission.

Membership & Outreach Committee

Responsible for spreading information about AAMHA and its mission. Promote its programs and recruit members for the Association. Keep members informed regularly about scheduled events and activities of the Association through personal contact.

Website Committee

Update website and social media platforms with all relevant AAMHA information; keep an active record of individual (member and non-member) names, e-mails and other information deemed necessary for dissemination of AAMHA information via mass emailing platform; be responsible for all non-member e-mail correspondence/communication in inbox; and archive minutes/notes/agenda and other important documents.

Ethics Committee

Ensure adherence and accountability to the Legal and Ethical Principles and Rule of Conduct of their professional/medical licensing organization and or academic institution for Association members. The main goal is to establish and maintain public trust in the professions, the practice of mental health, and AAMHA.
